Dermatologist and Tooth Surprise!

Well, first things first- Keagan has TWO teeth on the bottom, right next to eachother. It looks like they are the same size and have been coming up together all along we just didn't see it- he always sticks his tongue out when you try to look there.

We had our first dermatologist appointment today. Ever feel like all your efforts on something were thwarted in two seconds by a person with superior knowledge? That's kinda what happened- but in a good way. He said Aquaphor "was good 20 years ago, we have better things now" and he actually wants us to bathe him close to everyday but "as quick a dunk as you can get him clean" and don't use Dove because even their fragrance free has fragrance (by law they can have some, just no "added" fragrance, apparently)- use Cetaphil Cream Cleanser. He was quick to say things like "not your fault" and "we can do better", so he wasn't like "you're doing it wrong" and "how could you think that would work". But anyway, the gist of it is we're going with a two pronged assault- first a perscription to reduce the inflammation (it's a hydrocortizone alternative) which we'll use twice a day on all red places for 3 weeks. Then we have a follow up appointment and once he sees how Keagan has responded to that he'll know what to give for the moisture retaining issue.

So we'll keep you posted on his progress!

I love Cetaphil cleanser, it is absolutely the gentlest thing in the world. You can even use it without water and just wipe it off if you're worried about over-drying. Keagan's Auntie has very sensitive skin too!

Plain old cornstarch is helpful too...This is a bit far off in the future, but tomatoes and strawberries also make the condition worse...so easy on those!
