July 4th Weekend

The weather was pretty disappointing this long weekend. Friday was rainy, and started off really cool but ended really humid and sticky. We trashed our original plans of swimming with friends in Sharon and stayed home. Luckily, our friends Kelly and Kirby invited us over for some hamburgers, and Keagan and their son Jackson played the whole evening.
Saturday we went for an evening walk in the Decordova Museum's sculpture park. They allow dogs there and Keagan was psyched to have Willow come with us in the car. Both Keagan and Willow were scared of some of the sculptures, but it was fun nonetheless. They had a big musical instrument- xylophone type- on loan from somewhere in Cambridge and Keagan LOVED playing with that.
Sunday morning we went to Drumlin Farm (the first time we've gone with Erik) and of course, went on a hayride with the tractor. Keagan was also particularly enamoured with the pigs. On the way home we decided to go to the Bean House in downtown Maynard for some sandwiches for lunch. Keagan and I are regulars there, as it's a great place to get a snack and some coffee with his playgroup pals.
We rounded off the weekend with a little potluck dinner at Leyre and Mike's apartment with Amy, Mark, Loula and Will. Very fun and relaxing for a Sunday evening.
Happy 4th of July!
