Keagan's Calendar

I made Keagan a week long calendar to help him understand the concept of "days" and help prepare him for our Fall schedule, which now includes a day of preschool and a music class. I made "icons" from printouts of pictures and magnet sheet. This way I can change it as our schedule changes, and add fun things like when we're going to see family on weekends. I put Erik on Saturday and Sunday as well, because Keagan gets confused as to when/why daddy isn't home during the weekdays. I gave each day a color too, because he doesn't know "Tuesday" but he knows when I say "on the blue day". The little Keagan magnet moves each day so he knows what day Keagan is currently on, is "today." I have to give Tarah credit for this concept, because she has made something similar for Isabelle and I thought it was a great idea. Keagan really got into it today, wanting to play with all the magnets and going over all the colors for the days. I think as he gets older it will really help him keep track of things and know what to expect a few days at a time.

In other news: Keagan did his first pee-pee on the potty last night before bathtime. He asked to sit on the potty and then went! He often sits on the potty before bath, but it's usually for maybe .2 seconds and then he usually ends up peeing on the floor before getting into the tub. This was an improvement!

I do love the color coded calendar!! I currently have one on the fridge, one in my bag, one on the computer, and one that links to my phone!! I do have an OCD problem, but it keeps me sane!! It gets busier, believe me!!! He will need a Palm or Blackberry by first grade!

Congrats to Keagan for the potty time!!!
