MaynardFest!

The first Saturday of October is a great day in Maynard. It's Maynardfest! The streets downtown are closed to traffic and it's a big vendor extravaganza with tons of stuff to buy, eat, play and explore. Of course, I forgot my camera!
This year was lots of fun because we had Tarah, Isabelle, Adeline, my parents, Amy, Mark, Loula and Will joining us for the festivities. Keagan got an early start, though, because I was there at 9:00am doing my service at the Maynard Family Association table and Erik and Keagan came down with me. Keagan got to have a ride on this crazy tractor train- which is a thing the town runs and it's a lawn tractor that pulls these painted cars for kids (and parents!) to get in. He gives the kids a good ride doing as much twists and turns as he can through the crowd. It's quite a sight. Keagan got on with Erik, but then saw me as he passed the booth and got a little upset, and then insisted "Train Mommy!"... so of course, I left Erik at the booth, and got a train ride with Keagan. Luckily, that early in the morning there isn't too long a line.
We headed back home for some lunch when Tarah and the girls came. Then we were back downtown and met everyone else joining us. Keagan and the girls got to paint pumpkins, and go on a moonbounce, eat ice cream, and see a bunch of shelter kitties hoping to get adopted (sadly, not by us). Then we headed to the library for their big book sale and a nice quieter time in the Children's section. After that, it was home for a pizza dinner!
I did get one cute picture of the girls with their faces painted by Tarah. The line for it downtown was unacceptable for two four-year-olds.

It looks like you guys had more fun than we did sitting in traffic for the Topsfield Fair! We should have come hung out with you guys and the kiddies instead. Ah well, lessons learned ;)
