Preschool- Week 2

Well, drop-off again went very well. Pick-up was another story. As I'm sitting out in the hall with other parents at pick-up time, I hear the distinct cry of my son. Can I just tell you the amount of self-control needed to not burst through that door and grab him? It was intense. When they did open the door, there he is, tears all down his face, doing that horrible cry where they suck in air really rapidly. I pick him up and hold him for a few minutes and he calms down enough for me to distract him by asking about his craft project. I asked him why he was so upset, but he just said "Scared... want Mommy." Then I had two teachers tell me he did great today- even with sharing!- and that this crying fit was really just in the last couple minutes of the session. The second teacher elaborated that he started it when she pulled him away from snack time, to join circle time. Well that explains it! You don't take this kids food away from him! I look in his bag, and sure enough, it looks like he barely got to eat any of his snack (not good after a light breakfast because he sleept in!). My guess is, he was doddling to get to the snack table because he was too busy playing, then when he finally settled down to eat, they took it away for circle time (there are rules, even in preschool!). Hopefully this won't leave a bad taste in his mouth for next week.

I had to post these pictures because it was a gorgeous Fall day today and we spent a bunch of time outside, and I just loved the sheer joy in his giggle in the first picture (click for full size). The apple and acorn are his preschool craft projects.

I just know we have the same preschool projects packed away in a box! Must be a standard craft!

Cute pics...it is a perfect day today!

LOVE that picture of him laughing - I think he gets cuter every time I see him (or pictures).

Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the card and Keagan's picture!!! I got them Friday night and you guys get the prize for being the first people to make me actually cry during the walk (there were some sniffles at Opening Ceremony, but no tears until I got your card)!
