I have discovered recently that Keagan is much more willing to try new foods when he helps me make dinner. He has eaten some kidney beans and some pea pods in the last couple of days, which are both foods I'm certain he wouldn't have touched had I just put them on his plate. Making dinner with me also helps us pass that dreaded last hour before Daddy comes home from work. Tonight he got to pound some chicken for me. You'll notice he's using a ladle, not a meat tenderizer (less damage inflicted with a rounded spoon). He had a blast and was generally careful about it- once hitting his own head on the "wind up" and a couple times he needed to be reminded not to his the counter (but aiming is still hard). I'm hoping he takes after me with a passion for cooking, and if so, I expect my first breakfast in bed by about age 5 :)
