Today was Keagan's first experience making Christmas Cookies. We decided to do a "pajama day" and not go anywhere and, you guessed it, stay in our PJs. So I had to get creative. We made a play fort with a sheet and some chairs, we played with playdough, and then we made Christmas cookies! Baking with a 2-year-old is very interesting (how much flour actually got into the mixing bowl?) but I'm psyched Keagan likes being in the kitchen with me. The cookies actually turned out really well. I'm not usually a big fan of this type of cookie- they are often not very flavorful and get really crunchy- I'm a chewy kind of cookie person. This batch, however, is really good (I think perhaps we added a bit more vanilla than was called for). Putting on sprinkles was a bit of a mess, but I lined the cookie sheet with parchment in anticipation of melted colored sugar binding with a naked cookie sheet. Happy Holidays!

It's so much fun to have pajama day! When Charlotte was home sick last week, we did the same thing...only I made choc chip cookies. We watched movies, did art and built with leggos. Having these memories is so important! There's plenty of time later to be serious.
