Liza and Joe visit

We had Liza and Joe and their dog, Lucas, here for the weekend. It was so much fun having them. Sadly, Keagan, Torin, Erik and I are all in the middle of a nasty cold. On Friday evening the kids got a low fever and I ended up having to call off a holiday party we were going to host in Liza and Joe's honor. Instead of the party, we made some fancy hors d'ouevres for ourselves and some fried chicken for dinner. Liza and Joe also took Keagan out to lunch, just the three of them, which was the first outing of its kind he's had without us. Crazy, I know, since he's 3 years old, but he's only ever been babysat at our house, and of course now goes to school, but this was the first time he's been taken out somewhere by others. They had a great time, and Liza and Joe got a little lesson in dealing with toddler demands over some milk at lunch, apparently. Hehehe.
Our other activities included Keagan and Liza decorating a gingerbread house together- the first time Keagan's done that. I think it looks great. A nice mix of toddler placement and Liza's creative eye. Joe was also drafted to help shovel our driveway after the snow came on Sunday. What a pal! Liza and I took the dogs out on a walk in the snow together, which was tons of Wintry fun and the dogs loved it.
Keagan and Torin got some really nice presents from them. Among Keagan's favorite is the ice cream set which has ice cream scoops that have magnets in them which pick up the ice cream and put it on the cone (also magnetized). He's been dishing us up ever since he opened it! Torin also got a classic squeaky giraffe toy named Sophie, that is loves to hold and chew.
Thanks for the visit, Liza and Joe. We love you!
