OOB Vacation
We had a fabulous week at Old Orchard Beach in Tarah and Ken's beach house. The weather was good, with two hot, humid days that were a little uncomfortable and a couple rainy days, but we just used those to go to the Portland Children's Museum a couple times :) The boys loved that and we got in free with our Acton museum membership.
The beach was fantastic. It was so much fun with Torin able to walk around in the sand and splash in the water. Keagan had mixed feelings about the "big waves"- sometimes thinking they were fun, sometimes being scared. In fact, one day we went to the beach the waves were really big and we couldn't go in farther than our shins because it was not safe. To take a brake from the waves, we went to "the point" one day which is in a bay and doesn't have waves. That was very relaxing and we had one of our best meals of the week at the restaurant there for Erik's birthday :)
We also had visits from both sets of grandparents, which was nice. Keagan enjoyed the extra attention, I think.
Our first trip to a water park as a family was fun too! Of course we were limited in what we could do- Keagan isn't ready for the real water slides yet because he can't swim in the ending pools well enough, but this one had a nice little kid play section with a slide he could go down and he was thrilled. The wave pool was fun as well. We were there till 6pm when they closed, which was pretty chilly by then, but we were having too much fun to stop early!
Of course we had to go to the amusement park and do some rides. This year, though, Keagan realized how many rides he wasn't tall enough for that he wanted to try and he ended up being a little disappointed. Next year, buddy!
Our last morning there we went down to a cute breakfast place and let the boys stay in their PJs. It was a lovely way to spend the morning before packing up the car. We might have to make that a tradition. You can see the picture of the boys on the sidewalk on the way back to the car :)
