I went on a weekend away _by myself_! I went to visit Liza, Joe and baby Leo in Sag Harbor from Friday evening to Sunday evening. I've never been away from Torin that long, and maybe once for Keagan. (Not exactly a jet setter here, I know.) It was wonderful to be able to have adult conversation all day (Leo doesn't mind, he's only 4 months old) and do things on my schedule and when I wanted to do then. Such a luxury! I missed the boys terribly though, and was a little sad at my decision to not get home before bedtime on Sunday, but Keagan requested I go in and kiss him goodnight when I got home at 10:30pm, which I did.
Erik had his hands full with the two boys and Willow, but they all had a lot of fun together and many, many treats including Dunkin Donuts, ice cream and Julie's Place diner. Erik took the boys to the Discovery museum in Acton (where we're members) and to "Kite Day" in Framingham, which was a fundraiser for an autism charity. Erik was pretty tired when I came home, and I think a bit happy to go into work Monday morning ;)
Torin's reaction when he saw me Monday morning was priceless. Shear joy. Sometimes a little break may be the best thing for everyone.
