We went up to OOB for Erik's birthday again this year. Seems to be a good time to go up. Neither of the boys was super into the "big waves" at the beach. Torin wanted nothing to do with them and Keagan liked being about knee deep in the water with Erik. We had lots of fun in the tide pool area though during low tide. We also took a trip to "crabby beach" which is in the bay so no waves, but lots of (you guessed it) crabs and really soft sand. There is a great little restaurant there and that's where we went to celebrate Erik's birthday. We went to the amusement park too, of course, and the boys had a blast. Torin went on the "jump motorcycle" ride for the first time with Keagan, riding on the back of the motorcycle where there is a side support for him so he doesn't fall off. The first time I let Keagan go on that ride when he was 3, he nearly slide right off the seat, but in the back, with big brother, Torin was fine. Keagan went on the big roller coaster again, this time with Erik. Erik had a much harder time recovering from it than Keagan. It's great to see the boys grow a little more each time we are up there. Pretty soon it will be "ok, here's you bracelets, have fun, see you in couple hours." I'll be sad the year they are too old for me to cheer them on the kiddie rides. I'm enjoying it as much as possible now!
We also did a new adventure this year up to Portland to see the Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum and take a ride on their train. It was very fun, a nice ride along the coast on the historic train, and we had a great lunch out in Portland afterwards. It's nice to find new things to do up there on our trips.
