Pumpkin Picking!

Erik was at the Patriots game today with his parents and brother, Greg, so I took the boys to a local farm that lets you take a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. It was slightly strange to be picking pumpkins in 85 degree weather, but it was certainly beautiful too. Keagan went on a hunt for a "square" pumpkin as soon as we got to the patch because we saw a DVD movie called "Spookly the Square Pumpkin" this week and he wanted to find a "Spookly". You can see his find in the first picture.
The farm had a bluegrass band playing at the farm store, so after getting our pumpkins and some cider donuts and cider, we sat and listened to music while munching away.
When we got home the boys got to work painting their pumpkins. Keagan decided he'd rather paint than carve because he knew he could paint them right away and carving needed to wait until closer to Halloween or the pumpkins would rot. Not much gets past this kid. He got to paint the largest pumpkin, which he named "big baby" and his Spookly pumpkin, and Torin got to paint a couple of the smaller ones.
We're definitely in the Halloween/Fall feel over here now!
