First Beach Trip '08
The weather was beautiful yesterday afternoon and Keagan took a marathon nap through most of it! But when he woke up, we decided to take a picnic dinner to Boon Lake beach. There was no one else there most of the time, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Erik brought his kite, which Keagan loved watching fly up in the sky. There were tons of boaters to watch motor past us and of course, there was sand and water; what more could you need! Keagan had lots of fun "swimming" with Daddy and we all waded out to their little floating dock as well, which Keagan thought was so much fun and kept asking for more "boat." I really enjoyed watching him go from slightly nervous about the water kissing his toes, to practically jumping right in. At one point he was reaching down to splash with his hands and he fell forward and soaked his whole front (face and all). He recovered very well, just slightly startled, but he got cold pretty fast. Luckily, I was prepared with a warm, dry outfit. We had a lovely picnic dinner- although I think we'll leave picnicing to grass covered ground next time (or I'll bring a bigger blanket!) - dinner and sand don't mix well with a toddler!
