This week I bought a little birdhouse at a craft store with Keagan. He LOVED it. He talked to the check-out lady the whole time we were purchasing about how he was going to decorate it and have birds come. He colored on it with markers to make it ready, and then we filled it with bird seed. It is a birdhouse, not a feeder, but I thought it was too small to really have any birds want a nest in it, so we thought having him watch the birds come eat from it would be better. After we filled it with seed, I went to put some twine on it and hang it outside. This lead to a major meltdown about how it was "HIS" birdhouse. Eventually, I did get it hung outside, but when he saw it out there (on the tree out front so he can watch from the couch) he put his hands over his eyes and started to cry a really patheticly sad cry, with tears running down his face.... well, what could I do? I went back out and took it down, dumped out the seed, and gave it back to him. "My birdhouse!" he exclaimed with joy. Guess we'll just have to get another feeder he isn't desperately attached to for the outdoors. Live and learn!

Towers and Birdhouse
Keagan has gotten much better at building towers with these small blocks that we have- not an easy feat. However, he gets really upset when they fall down. I keep trying to explain to him that it's half the fun of building towers, but he doesn't agree. I think it may be due to the fact that these blocks are hard to balance, so it's a big skill, and he doesn't like to see it ruined. (His poor face is all red in this picture because we have all had nasty colds and it's irritated from rubbing with tissues!)

Get him some magnetic blocks at the Toy Box. They attract from all sides....If I happen to pick his name for Christmas, I'll get some.
