First Day of School

Ok, technically I took this picture on his second day of school because I forgot the camera the first day. He apparently thought "smile, Keagan", meant to make a mischievous face. This is his second year at the Community School preschool. Their program has downsized a bit since last year- going to a morning-only program from 9-12 (Keagan's going Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and combining their 3 and 4 year olds into one class. It's a bit of a transition and Keagan is definitely a "Big fish in a small pond" this year with his friend Owen as a conspirator in "big boy" territory. He has the same head teacher as last year, who is fantastic and she knows how to handle them. I asked how the first day went and she said "Well, we have to separate them in the circle at circle time, because together they form an all-knowing being." Hahahaha. But apparently, separated they are working well with the littler kids and helping them learn the ropes. We shall see how this progresses. I'm just hoping he doesn't get bored as the year goes on, but right now I think he's enjoying his "elevated status".
