Tougas Farm Trip

Keagan had an early release today, and the weather was gorgeous, so we decided to go apple picking at Tougas Farm. We went there once when Keagan was 2, but haven't been since. We met one of Keagan's friends there as well, which made it all the more exciting. They have a big playground area where the boys could run off some energy before getting to work in the orchard. Their orchard was PACKED with apples. You can see how many are on the ground in the picture. The trees were just bursting with them. It was crazy. Not at all hard to fill a bag here! Keagan would have packed his in our first row of Cortlands (which were the size of a softball), but his friend wanted to find some yellow apples, so we went on the hunt for Golden Delicious and Ginger Golds too. I've discovered the key to Torin's happiness with apple picking is to just give him one first thing. They he just munches and follows behind, happy as a clam. After our picking, we headed to the farm kitchen for some treats. Keagan chose chocolate chip cookies, and Torin went along with his big brother. We brought some cider donuts home for later ;)
