First Farm Festivities of Fall

It was a gorgeous day and after being cooped up inside all week with this nasty cold, we needed to get OUT! We decided to take a trip to Shelburne Farm in Stow for some classic fall fun. This farm has a bounce house, ride on tractor toys, farm animals, a hay maze, a hay ride, pony rides, a great little shop and food stand and of course apple picking. It was packed with people. I was thinking as we left "it's early in the season, it probably won't be too crowded." Ha! It took Erik a half hour in line to buy some water and cider!
We bought Keagan the hand stamp to get him on the bounce house, tractor toys and hay maze. We also did a hay ride together. Then Keagan, to our surprise, said he wanted a pony ride. We were all for it, but sadly, by the time we went to buy a ticket they were ending the rides for the day. He took it in stride, and maybe we'll go back another time to see if he's still interested. He can be pretty timid about new things, so we try to reward adventurous requests.
Torin spent most of the time in the Ergo carrier and wasn't always super happy about it, so we didn't pick our own apples this time. There will be other trips to local farms this season, I'm sure.
